National Satellite of Excellence in Trustworthy Software Systems (SOE)  The National Satellite of Excellence in Trustworthy Software Systems (SOE) aims to develop certification tools and workflows to certify the security and operating environment behaviours of embedded software systems. Anchored in NUS, this SOE is led by Professor Abhik Roychoudhury from NUS School of Computing and Associate Professor Liu Yang from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) School of Computer Science and Engineering. I&E Practicum@SoC grant If you have an innovative idea for a startup venture, do apply for the I&E Practicum@SoC grant!  If awarded, you get a cool $10,000 to work on it further to determine if it can be turned into a real business. The grant is for one year and is intended for a small team.  While the applicant needs to be from SoC, other members of the team could be from other schools.  In fact, a team comprising students from different disciplines is encouraged.  A diverse team with complementary skills is a strong team. Eligibility: - The project must be carried out by the student applicant or team and not be part of a project initiated by a Company. - The main applicant must remain a student during the one-year duration of the grant. The Furnace - Incubator with free office and strong mentorship

If you thought starting a tech company is only for the young then you’d be totally wrong. Download the information flyer to find out more about the Furnace, SoC’s early-stage startup incubator. All SoC students, staff and alumni are eligible to apply for residency. The Furnace is pleased to offer infrastructure and management support to foster an entrepreneurial climate and help bring ideas through development to commercial fruition. The goal is to nurture young businesses and help them to survive and grow during the start-up period when they are most vulnerable. The Furnace provides physical space in lockable rooms and infrastructure such as network connectivity and telephone lines, to successful applicants for a period of half a year (with renewal options).
